| Water Testing Program |
| This program makes nitrate, metal and
volatile organic chemical testing more cost
effective because sample are sent simultaneously
to be tested. Tests kits are purchased during a
two week period. The water samples are taken on
a designated date and returned to the District.
Samples are shipped to the lab as a group.
Results are sent directly to participants and
are confidential. |

Funding/Cost-Share
Opportunity
The Illinois Dept. of Agriculture has limited
funding available through the Conservation 2000
program which will be administered by the Soil &
Water Conservation Districts in the county where
the well is located. This is a cost-share
program which would pay $300 or 60% of the
actual cost, whichever is less. Any individual
who currently owns or manages an unsealed
abandoned well within Illinois is eligible for
the cost-share assistance to properly seal the
well. This cost-share program will cover only
the actual sealing of the well. Permit fees,
inspection fees, or other fees will not be
covered under this program and will be at your
expense.
An application form must be submitted to KDSWCD
office.
Call for deadline dates. |
The following form must be completed:

prior to sending in the application form.
Once the application is approved by the Board,
Applicants will be notified to proceed with
sealing the well. |
