Water Testing
Program |

This program
makes nitrate, metal and volatile organic
chemical testing more cost effective because
sample are sent simultaneously to be tested.
Tests kits are purchased during a two week
period. The water samples are taken on a
designated date and returned to the District.
Samples are shipped to the lab as a group.
Results are sent directly to participants and
are confidential.

Well Sealing |
Funding/Cost-Share Opportunity
The Illinois Dept. of Agriculture has
limited funding available through the
Conservation 2000 program which will be
administered by the Soil & Water
Conservation Districts in the county
where the well is located. This is a
cost-share program which would pay $300
or 60% of the actual cost, whichever is
less. Any individual who currently owns
or manages an unsealed abandoned well
within Illinois is eligible for the
cost-share assistance to properly seal
the well. This cost-share program will
cover only the actual sealing of the
well. Permit fees, inspection fees, or
other fees will not be covered under
this program and will be at your
expense.
An application form must be submitted to KDSWCD
office. Call for deadline dates.

Wells are
not to be sealed prior to sending in the
application form.
Once
the application is approved by the
Board, Applicants will be
notified to proceed with sealing the
well.
